Study reveals four SEC schools in top "Instagrammable" U.S. stadiums

A recent study by Nieuwe-Casinos examined which stadiums in the U.S are the most popular on social media, ranking them based on the number of hashtags on Instagram.

The research by online gaming platform Nieuwe-Casinos compiled a list of the 20 largest U.S. stadiums and analyzed the total posts per stadium hashtags on Instagram. Each stadium’s seating capacities were compared to the volume of hashtagged posts. Stadiums with the ten highest “Photos-Per-Seat” qualified as the most Instagrammable.

Topping the list is Bryant-Denny Stadium, home of the Alabama Crimson Tide which boasts an impressive 3,400,000 total photos and Alabama fans take a whopping 34 photos per seat at 100,077 seating capacity.

Alabama football dominates on all social media platform not just Instagram too, with 1.3 million Instagram followers, and over 206,000 TikTok posts are tagged with the #rolltide hashtag — making it one of the most popular team chants on the platform.”

Which other NFL stadiums are the most Instagrammed?

Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia No. 6 on the list. The Georgia Bulldogs had 1,818,000 total photos on Instagram.

Looking at the study, a spokesperson from Nieuwe-Casinos commented: “Fans seeking a distinctive setting can book seats at this highly photogenic stadium to create crowd-energized memories. Stadium operators can harness this enthusiasm by encouraging visitors to capture photo-worthy moments.”

Coming in next for SEC schools at No. 8 is Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is the eighth most Instagrammable stadium with 13 Photos Per Seat, amassing 1,190,000 combined posts under #GoGators (964,000) and #SwampLife (226,000). Popularly known as ‘The Swamp’, the stadium has a seating capacity for 88,548 people.

Rounding out the top ten and fourth in the SEC is Auburn with Jordan-Hare Stadium. Their total number of post is 1,134,000.

The study compiled by nieuwe-casinos.net is the total number of Instagram posts for 20 major U.S. stadiums based on each venue’s main hashtags. Seating capacities were obtained to calculate the ratio of photos to each available seat (“photos per seat”) as the determining factor for ranking the stadiums by their ‘Instagrammability.’
