Wow. This is shocking to say, but Texas will be playing Xavier in one of the play-in games for the 11 seed against Xavier after getting to the semi-finals in the SEC tournament.

I think most Texas fans can agree that this team did not deserve to continue playing. However, this is a historically weak bubble. UNC has one Quad 1 win, and they’re dancing, so it is easy to put in a Texas team with seven Quad 1 wins.

Texas is in solely because of their gutsy performance in the SEC tournament by beating Vandy and Texas A&M. Texas may have found something in the past week on both sides of the ball. Tramon Mark facilitating the offense by doing a drive and dish approach has re-invigorated a really lackluster offense. ChendallWeaver’s hustle defense plus some newfound piss & vinegar has turned the defense from what most perceived as “soft” into a fairly competent defense.

This team is truly an enigma to me. It is very possible that this team loses to Xavier comfortably and we just all go home. This team could also make a run to the Sweet 16 to meet up with Tennessee (possibly) for a third time this year on slightly fresher legs. I have no idea.

What I do know is that my team gets to keep playing meaningful basketball. That’s all I really wanted.
