Former 5-star recruit and Florida commit Jaden Rashada is suing Florida Head Coach Billy Napier and a big Florida booster. Rashada was committed to Miami then Billy Napier and a huge booster at Florida came to Rashada and promised him a $14 million dollar NIL Deal to come to Florida.
The NIL deal fell through and Rashada de-commited from Florida and went to Arizona State for one season. Rashada just recently transferred to Georgia. The lawsuit from Rashada claims that they now know that Billy Napier and the booster never intended to pay him the NIL package. The big news here is that Georgia coach Kirby Smart gave Jaden Rashada the green light to file the lawsuit.
This doesn't look good for Billy Napier, the booster, especially Florida. This is the worst possible outcome for Florida when recruiting a top prospect. Florida has a huge headache now on top of a rough season last year and what looks like another disappointing season coming this year.
Will this cause Florida to think twice or not offer a recruit millions of dollars in NIL money? Will this be a lesson for other schools to learn from and look at when recruiting a kid?
Schools will be looking at this and wanting to avoid this catastrophe. Will this lawsuit cause other schools to think twice and think about offering a recruit millions of dollars? NIL can be great for schools but there's also this outcome.
In today’s world, a lot of recruits are less loyal to schools and more loyal to the money and when the money is not there they are gone.
