Did Tennessee break Ole Miss?

I have a simple question: did Tennessee break Ole Miss?

Probably not, because that sort of thing doesn’t really exist; it’s just a tool fans use to clown on an opposing team. The sentiment is still there, especially after their midweek game against Little Rock, where they lost 3-7.

I sincerely think that the confidence of this team did take a bit of a hit after the Tennessee series and seeing Andrew Fischer and Liam Doyle do what they did probably didn’t help either. Also, I’m glad Doyle transferred, but it really hurt seeing him wear that ugly orange.

The Rebels lost the series to Tennessee, winning game two, and almost winning the rubber match until a certain someone, Brayden Jones, imploded and cost them the game. On the whole, Ole Miss wasn’t horrible for the entire series, but inconsistencies marred the Rebels, as it often does.

There are games where our pitching is lights out, then there are games like Little Rock, where no one looks focused and we get beat. Seriously, this team is taking the same path that Ole Miss football did, losing in spectacular fashion, giving fans a heart attack each and every time.

I will end with this, boy, did the fans show up. Swayze was the most packed that I have ever seen it, I’m a sophomore in college for reference, but the crowd was electric and was never fully taken out of the game. I hope the fans keep showing up, which I think they will.

Ole Miss looks to beat South Carolina in Columbia this upcoming weekend, and for the sake of Rebel fans, I hope they do.
