SEC basketball has been anything but predictable this season, with Kentucky having struggles and South Carolina being 21-4 and #11 in the country after being picked to finish last in the SEC.

This season has been one of the wildest season’s in SEC basketball. There have been multiple upsets throughout the year, with South Carolina beating Kentucky at home as well as Florida beating Kentucky. In the beginning of the season, Kentucky was a lot of people’s National Championship pick with all the offensive talent they have.

Tennessee has one of the best players in the country in Dalton Knecht which makes them a contender. Tennessee has a great team and they have an absolute stud in Dalton Knecht who is averaging 20.3 points a game.

The Top 5 teams in the SEC are Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida which makes them the favorites but you never know. This season, I think you could argue has been more competitive than years past. There is not one team that is absolutely dominant but a lot of good teams.

Kentucky is a great offensive team that could also win the SEC tournament with all the talent they have. Auburn just got two huge wins vs South Carolina at home and vs Alabama in the iron bowl on the court. The Auburn Tigers are starting to come together and are looking really good at the right time. The Tigers have dominated this season at home but the SEC Championship is not played on the plains.

My favorite team to win the SEC Tournament is Auburn. I believe with their defense and their big men they will be able to win the tournament and have a chance to make a deep run in the SEC tournament. A team to watch out for in the SEC tournament is Florida. They are on a 2 game win streak and are one of the teams that could get hot.

This tournament will be highly anticipated and in my opinion there will be 3 to 4 SEC teams that could make a deep run in the NCAA tournament. The SEC is better than every in basketball and lets hope the SEC tournament is competitive classic.
