If you had to find one inarguable opinion that SEC fans, media, and players could agree on, what do you think it would be? There is one obvious answer here.
The SEC is absolutely filled with elite wide receivers. Either coming in from the portal, high school or finally breaking through the depth chart, the SEC has an absolutely absurd amount of wide receivers. What does that mean you might ask? Well, not everyone is going to get the spotlight they deserve.
Today, I am here to give the spotlight to a much deserving group of wide outs.
That team is the Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky was not the best passing team or even consistent as an offensive unit as a whole last season. That should definitely not be the case in 2024, as they have the best wide receiver room I can recall them having in a long time.
The room is led by the electric talent of Barion Brown. From kickoff return touchdowns to being a threat at all levels of the field the highlights speak for the hype.
To the portal we go as Kentucky added a 1,000 yard & 11 TD receiver Ja’Mori Maclin from North Texas. They also added Raymond Cottrell via the portal by way of Texas A&M.
To put the cherry on top Dane Key is back for his 2nd year in Lexington. The mix of experience, elite speed, and blooming young talent is a luxury for any team to have at wide receiver.
Oh yeah, and that isn’t even a top five room in the conference to most people. It simply is the most underrated wide receiver room in the SEC.
