Rough weather in Austin over the weekend for the Texas vs Dartmouth season slowed down the offenses and kept the crowds away most of the weekend, but there is still plenty to note about Texas' sweep of the Big Green. Grab your broom and come share a 12 pack with me!

  • The weather turned the Texas bats cold. Texas hitters finished almost 80 points lower this weekend as a team than they did in Arlington a weekend ago. Cold and wind in your face aren't ideal hitting conditions.
  • If you're Texas headed into the weekend you expected a sweep and you got a sweep.
  • Texas pitching was outstanding all weekend. The Big Green only managed 15 hits, 6 runs and a BA of .163 for the series.
  • The trio of Tommy Farmer, Easton Winfield and Casey Borba seemed to be locked in a battle to see who winds up in left field and the DH spot, permanently.
  • Who had Ethan Mendoza hitting 2025's first HR at Disch-Falk field on their Bingo card?
  • Freshman Dylan Volantis with the outing of the series on the bump going 4.2IP, 1 Hit, no walks, no runs, and 4 Ks.
  • The sun finally came out late on Sunday and the Texas bats were able to produce a HR, a Double and Triple on their way to a 4-1 win.
  • The way The Arm Farm and Coach Schloss handle pitchers and pitching changes is elite.
  • Caden Bing redeemed himself well on Sunday going 4.1IP, 1 Hit, 1 ER and 2 Ks in his 2nd start.
  • Schloss throwing Casey Borba in at 2B on Saturday was...interesting and a sign to me that he's trying to get Borba going at the plate.
  • When the top finally comes off the Easton Winfield bottle it's going to be insane. He's had a rough start to 2025.
  • Good sign to see strikeouts cut from 40 at Globe Life to 20 at the Disch.
