Alabama hired coach Kalen Deboer in January after legendary coach Nick Saban announced his retirement. Coach Deboer comes from Washington where they were just in the National Title Game.

Alabama had a lot of key players transfer out of the program, for example, Freshman All-American Caleb Downs transferred to Ohio State after Coach Saban retired. Coach Deboer got multiple recruits to transfer to Alabama and also retain star quarterback Jalen Milroe. Jalen Milroe said that coach Deboer is very personable and easy to talk to and create a great relationship with.

What will be some of the key differences with Coach Deboer leading Alabama this season? 

Coach Deboer is a great coach and has a great resume but he is very different from Nick Saban. Coach Deboer is an offensive mind and Alabama is going to score a lot of points this season. Coach Saban is extremely serious and focused at all times and that is why he is the best college coach of all time.

This team under Coach Deboer is going to be a little different. They will play more loosely, have more fun playing, and celebrate more. Coach Saban is the best college coach of all time and he is very old school with how he runs his program. Coach Saban is also more of a defensive-minded coach while coach Deboer is the opposite.

This new Alabama will be allowed to talk trash more than Nick Saban allowed. Coach Deboer is younger and more used to the new age of college athletics and the younger college athlete. Coach Deboer will be very positive and encouraging to his team throughout the season. I believe in Coach Deboer and he will be a great fit at Alabama.

With that being said there are high expectations at Alabama and a lot of pressure there is nothing like Alabama and playing SEC football. So it will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of the Alabama job.
