“Northeast Florida showed out last year and provided a fantastic environment for the inaugural Jax College Baseball Classic" said Jumbo Shrimp executive vice president/general manager Harold Craw. “We know there is a huge base of college baseball fans throughout the area and we look forward to seeing another set of four great teams take the field at 121 Financial Ballpark. Thank you to Peak Events LLC for helping to continue this exciting event and we cannot wait to create another extraordinary experience for the student-athletes, coaches and fans.”

The weekend tournament will have two games per day at 121 Financial Ballpark.

Led by sophomore shortstop Justin Lebron Alabama enters the trip to Jacksonville with an 5-0 record. Alabama head coach Rob Vaughn said his team's focus going into this weekend's Jacksonville Classic will be to handle business while away from home after the first five games.

"We're gonna play three SEC-caliber teams," Vaughn said. "I think it's gonna be huge to get these guys on the road... It's gonna be really good to get out there and see, can we continue to be us on the road against good opponents, when we're not sleeping in our own bed, when we're not playing in The Joe, can we continue to be this team that operates at the level they're operating right now."

Ohio State's record is 0-3 as the look to get into the win column this is what their head coach had to say to Buckeye Sports Bulletin

“I know all three of those programs are going to be really well coached and really well prepared,” Haire said. “We’re going to do our best to make sure that our guys are ready for that fight and excited about getting down there, getting the opportunity to put the uniform on and go punch some of those big boys int the mouth.”

Coastal Carolina baseball is off to a hot start as the Chanticleers are 4-1 to start the season. CCU will face Alabama, Ohio State and NC State over the course of the weekend.

Lastly, the No. 12 ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack sits at 3-1 after blowing a three-run lead in the ninth to Liberty. The Wolfpack open the Jax Baseball Classic with a face off against Ohio State at 2 p.m. on Friday.
