Texas A&M throttled Missouri at home winning in dominant fashion 41-10. The Aggies are starting to look like a sleeper for the college football playoff. The Missouri Tigers got dominated in every aspect of the game. They were in a lot of people's playoffs in the preseason.

Can Missouri bounce back and make a playoff push? Did we learn more about Texas A&M and how this program is on the rise?

I said in the preseason that the Aggies could make a run. They have a very talented roster and now have the coach to develop and direct them. Their defense was dominant against Missouri and has been great all year. Coach Mike Elko has implemented his aggressive defense and has shown why the Aggies hired him. They are 5-1 this season with their only loss in week one to Notre Dame.

The Aggies shocked a lot of people this weekend with starting Conner Weigman who was coming off an injury. Backup quarterback Marcel Reed was 3-0 while Weigman was out with injury. Coach Elko went with the right guy this weekend, Weigman was 18-22 and 276 yards passing. He is a guy that can stretch the ball down the field and get their playmakers the ball in space. I think Texas A&M is on the rise and is a sleeper for a playoff run. The Aggies have been a sleeping giant with their resources they have and now they have the right captain to direct the ship.

On the Missouri side it looked bad this weekend and had a lot of people asking questions. Are the Tigers pretenders? A lot of people, including me, are wondering how good is Missouri? They have not played great competition so far this season and when they did play on the road in a tough environment they struggled in every part of the game. I still believe in Missouri to be a top 15 team because of their talented receivers Theo Wease and Luther Burden. Their offensive line and quarterback Brady Cook have to play better. They are not good enough upfront to win the SEC or a National Championship.

I came out of this came believing in Texas A&M and knowing the Aggies are going to be very good in the coming years. I am not sure if they are good enough to make the CFP this season but they will be there very soon. It is just year 1 under Coach Mike Elko. Aggieland is going to be very happy in the coming years. For Missouri the rest of their schedule is not difficult with their only big games left are against Alabama and Arkansas.

They will be favored in their remaining games except against Alabama. They need to win against Alabama and win out to make the CFP. Missouri will get left out of the CFP with a loss to Alabama even if they win the rest of their games. The SEC is unpredictable and extremely competitive every weekend. We all learned that this weekend. It will be interesting to see what all unfolds.
