LSU must replace the former Heisman trophy winner Jayden Daniels this upcoming season. The expected starter for this upcoming season is Garrett Nussmeier. Nussmeier passed for 591 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 2023 season. He started in the bowl game vs Wisconsin and passed for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns in their win vs Wisconsin.

Garrett Nussmeier will be a redshirt Junior and has spent a couple of years on campus at LSU. His time learning the offense and learning under Jayden Daniels gives me a ton of confidence in him.

Quarterbacks that are given time to develop tend to have success when they get their chance to start. Garrett Nussmeier has been coached by one of the best coaches in college football in Bryan Kelly. Coach Kelly will have him ready to play really well.

In the Tigers spring game on Saturday, April 13th Nussmeier completed 7-7 passes for 187 passing yards and two touchdowns. Nussmeier aired the ball out with a 45-yard touchdown and a 59-yard touchdown. He has a quick release and excellent arm talent and can run just good enough to make a couple of plays in the quarterback run game.

Nussmeier is very smart and makes good decisions. He loves the deep ball and throws it very well downfield. The LSU offense is explosive and they have a great offensive scheme.

LSU receiver Kyren Lacy is going to have a huge season for the Tigers he is going to have over 1,000 yards receiving this season. Lacy is a big weapon and is going to help Nussmeier a lot. The question will be how well will the offensive line play because he is not as athletic as Jayden Daniels.

Another minor concern is the defense, LSU was one of the worst defenses in the SEC last season so they will improve to help the new starter. I do expect the defense to be a lot better and Nussmeier to be in the top 3  passing leaders in the SEC.

This will be a big season for him and I expect him to play really well.
