The Auburn Tigers have upgraded their wide receiver room in a huge way this offseason by bringing in the highest ranked receiver class in 2024 and adding multiple transfer wide receivers.
Robert Lewis committed to Auburn during the first transfer portal window in December. Transferring from Georgia State, Lewis brought in 102 receptions for 1,323 yards and 14 TDs in the 32 career games he played for the Panthers. The 5-10, 180 pound receiver from Covington, Georgia joins a very young and talented room and Lewis provides a veteran presence.
He saw a lot of action this past spring and is set to become a major contributor on the offensive side of the ball this upcoming season. This is what he had to tell the Auburn family.
SH: Who do you like to model your game after?
RL: I like to model my game after receivers that’s more my size. My favorite of all time is Antonio brown, so that’s who I try to model myself after.
SH: What has been the biggest adjustment from Georgia State to Auburn?
RL: The biggest adjustment I would say would be the offense as a whole from the play calling to the talent that I have around me.
SH: What is it like being one of the more veteran wide receivers in the room?
RL: It’s a crazy feeling knowing that I’m considered a vet now. It shows me how fast time flies but I like being a vet because I get to take charge and help the younger guys around me to get better and teach them things that I was taught.
SH: What made you decide that Auburn was the best option for you?
RL: The opportunity that was presented . Knowing that they were in a need for wide receivers to help this offense take that next step . It was a good option for me knowing that I’ll be playing SEC football to go against the best competition and gain more exposure from NFL scouts.
