The Auburn Tigers welcome offensive tackle, Ronan Chambers, to their 2024 roster. Chambers, 6-6 290, started for the Akron Zips and entered the transfer portal this January. Chambers was committed to Tulane and flipped from Tulane to Auburn seemingly out of nowhere.

Exclusive interview with Ronan Chambers

SH: What drew you initially to Auburn University?

RC: The opportunity to play in the SEC. Coach Thornton showed me how competitive it is and how I could help Auburn this upcoming year.

SH: What do you think the biggest adjustment from Akron to Auburn is or will be?

RC: The biggest adjustment I feel coming from Akron will be the every week competition level. Being in the SEC you have to be ready each week because you’re getting the best of the best. Also the environment, it’s something I’m going to enjoy a lot playing for a fan base that loves Auburn Football.

SH: What’s your thoughts on Coach Thornton?

RC: He’s a great guy and Coach! He showed me and my family around Auburn during my OV. He’s real and has been successful at this level. He believes in me and I believe in him as a Coach.

SH: Whose play style inspires and influences you?

RC: Being from Cleveland Joe Thomas is someone I always watched growing up. The way he approached every season and how he played each week inspires me to try be like him. He is the standard at the tackle position.

SH: What tradition of Auburn’s are you looking forward to most? Like Rolling Toomer’s or the Eagle flying?

RC: Having played many SEC teams during my time at Akron including Auburn I have experienced some of these traditions. Nothing will compare to the famous Tiger Walk and Rolling Toomer’s Corner.

SH: What’s something that Auburn fans should know about Ronan Chambers?

RC: I’m smart, hard working and feel strong about having success on and off the field. It all matters.
