Texas A&M has had a very rough 72 hours after having a fantastic season this year.

The Aggies went all the way to Omaha and lost in the National Championship game to Tennessee in Game 3. To add to the loss, the Aggies just lost their head coach Jim Schlossnagle to Texas where he just accepted the head coaching job one day after the National Championship game.

Following the loss to Tennessee, a reporter asked coach Jim Schlossnagle about the possibility of him leaving to take another job and he said “ I think it is pretty selfish of you to ask that question. I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M, I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again”.

Coach Schlossnagle then walked out of the press conference upset at the question. Coach Schlossnagle went off with his comments and then went to the rival school. Well clearly, Coach Schlossnagle is taking another job in Texas so I would predict he got an offer he could not refuse to come to Austin. This is very odd because of his success at Texas A&M and how supportive the Texas A&M fans and boosters are.

Texas A&M fans have to be confused and upset about how coach Schlossnagle handled the situation. Texas A&M just had one of the best seasons they have had in a long time and lost in the National Championship game by one run in game 3.

The Aggies accomplished a lot in 2024 which will be forgotten because of how crazy the last 48 hours have been for Aggie baseball. How quickly can coach Schlossnagle turn around Texas?
