The Arkansas Razorbacks have cemented themselves as not only the best team in the SEC, but the best team in college baseball. After their series sweep over the defending champion LSU Tigers, the Razorbacks improved to 23-3 (8-1 SEC) and will certainly remain the #1 team in the country.

Success in the SEC starts at the top with pitching and boy does Arkansas have plenty of it. Friday starter Hagen Smith is arguably the best pitcher in college baseball, and he continues to show that every time he takes the mound.

In his three conference starts, Smith has gone 18 innings, allowed only two runs, and struck out THIRTY-TWO! Almost 11 strikeouts per game is absurd, especially in the SEC. Including Smith's ERA of 1.34, the rest of the Razorback staff has combined for an impressive 2.79 ERA.

The staff has totaled 334 strikeouts on the season. Heading into a weekend where the Razorbacks will be hosting a struggling Ole Miss squad, I fully expect the Razorback staff to feast on Ole Miss hitters.

Now let's look at the offensive side of things for Arkansas. With a team batting average of .279, the Razorbacks are actually in the bottom half of the SEC in team average. This isn't a team that slugs, as their team leader in home runs only has six long balls this year.

The one thing this team does not do, is strikeout. They are first in the SEC in strikeouts, meaning they strikeout less than anyone in the conference. It's a lineup led by veteran Kendall Diggs and Peyton Stovall, that grind out long at-bats and put the ball in play.

You certainly need offense to compete in the SEC, but with the way the Razorbacks can rely on their pitching, they know they don't need to score many runs to be successful.

It is hard to envision a world where this Razorbacks team isn't dogpiling on their home field after clinching a College World Series berth and headed back to the promised land in Omaha.
