Texas A&M is going into year one with Mike Elko. He's a great coach who took Duke to a level that people did not see coming.

Texas A&M under Jimbo Fisher was a roller coaster and the Aggies needed a fresh start. Coach Elko came in from Duke and will be a lot more consistent for the Aggies.

The Aggies have a great chance of surprising some people this season because the Aggies are a sleeping giant. They have recruited extremely well and have a lot of talent on their team. Some of those players have transferred to other schools but they still have a lot of their talent.

Their defense was one of the best in the country last season and with Coach Elko coming in, they will be good again this season. Their front seven is going to be exciting to watch; in 2023 the Aggies had the #1 ranked run defense because of their front seven.

Expect Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman is going to play well this season. He is an elite passer and a smart player that will be playing for a reenergized Texas A&M team.

He played well for the Aggies last season before he got hurt. Conner Weigman is going to be one of the best passers in the SEC this season. He will be throwing to a receiving core that was underused last season and Coach Elko will put him in a better position to be successful than Jimbo Fisher.

Another big factor is the Aggies have one of the best atmospheres in the country. Kyle Field is a huge advantage for Texas A&M and one of the hardest places in the country for an away team to play at.

The Aggies play Notre Dame, Missouri, LSU, and Texas all at Kyle Field. That is huge for Texas A&M and if the Aggies get some momentum they could win all four of those games. It is a lot more likely that the Aggies win three of the four of those games but Kyle Field is extremely hard to win at and if the Aggies get rolling anything could happen.

There's a lot to like about A&M in year one of Mike Elko. Don't be shocked if they surprise this season.
